Bag care tips
Genuine leather ages well when it is kept dry, clean and out of direct sun. A few habits keep your bag looking new for decades.
Everyday
- Wipe dust with a soft, dry cloth. For marks, use a slightly damp cloth with water only and let it dry naturally.
- Keep the bag away from heaters, radiators and direct sunlight: heat dries the leather and fades the color.
- Do not overfill it. Leather keeps the shape it is stored in.
Every few months
- Apply a small amount of neutral leather conditioner with a soft cloth, in circular motions, and buff off the excess.
- Hair-on-hide (Fur collection) bags are brushed gently in the direction of the hair; never condition the hair side.
Embroidery and embossing
- Do not rub embroidered names with cleaners or conditioner; dab around them.
- Embossed inscriptions need no care beyond keeping the leather conditioned.
If it gets wet
Blot with a dry cloth and let it dry at room temperature, away from heat, with the zipper open. Condition once it is fully dry.
Storage
Store it in a breathable cotton bag, never in plastic, and keep the tefillin bag inside the tallit bag so both hold their shape.
